Hanover College Student senate
First-Year Senate Position
Tiffany Casillas
What leadership roles have you held and how will they help you
as a Student Senator?
Being NHS Vice President, in Senior Leadership, in the Advisory
Boards of International Club and Mentor Program, and the treasurer of
Drama Club taught me incredible time management and wonderful people
skills. As a Student Senator I will use my skills from Senior Leadership
to give an accurate representation of the student body. My NHS responsibilities
will serve helpful when posting contact information to students and
participating in community events.
What attributes do you believe a Senator should have?
Aside from the good attendance, superlative social skills,
and organization, dedication and a common goal to better campus life
are central qualities that a Student Senator should have. Building from
dedication, a Student Senator should be dedicated to each of the attributes
he or she encompasses. One should be dedicated to being open-minded
and dedicated to representing a medley of opinions from his or her peers.
A Student Senator should certainly be trustworthy and hardworking. He
or she should work hard toward the goal to better the always improving
campus experiences.
Why do you wish to serve on the Hanover College Student Senate?
I may not be bursting with leadership experience; I do, however,
have a desire to be a special part of Hanover. I am jumping at the first
chance to be a part of the senate because I am very excited to become
a piece of what Hanover is. Understanding the way a community works
is vital to me. Also, I am willing to put time and effort into my stay
at Hanover, and I plan to take advantage of several opportunities presented
to me. I do also understand that many will be interested in the chance
to be in the Student Senate; I am confident that I, regardless of my
acceptance into the Senate, will be an active member of the Hanover
community.
