Hanover College Student senate
First-Year Senate Position
Terry Reader
What leadership roles have you held and how will they help you
as a Student Senator?
Chairman of the School Board Committee for Student Leadership
Advisory Council, Officer of the Student Leadership Advisory Council,
Officer of Future Educators in Action, Council Member of Eberhard Lutheran
Church, Varsity Football Member, and Varsity Academic Bowl Member
What attributes do you believe a Senator should have?
A senator should be able to speak well, yet have the ability
to listen even better. They should possess tenacity to enact what they
promise.Approach every situation with an open mind to learn from all
of those that come to them with suggestions. They should have the capacity
for hard work, and long hours. A senator should also have a love to
serve, furthermore, their existance is to enact the will of the people.
Why do you wish to serve on the Hanover College Student Senate?
I am interested in leading, and serving. I hope one day to
run for the United States Senate, and would like as uch leadership expierence
as possible. In my high school years I accomplished a lot through serving,
including: building lasting friendships, valuable experience in budgeting
and spending, working with others to accomplish many tasks, and learning
to manage time to complete the tasks of my offices while having enough
time to complete my studies. I believe it is important to be invlovled
more in your school, especially when it is your home than simply studying.
I would like to have a voice in what happens at Hanover, and be able
to speak for those whose voices aren't loud enough to be heard.
