The Chi Omega Fraternity takes great pride in being the second largest women's organization in the country, as well as the largest national sorority with nearly 273,000 actives and alumnae. Our chapter, Upsilon Lambda, strives to promote Chi Omega 's six purposes: Friendship, Community Service, Sincere Learning and Credible Scholarship, Career Development, High Standards of Personnel, and Participation in Campus Activities. The members of Chi Omega are involved throughout the campus community from Peer Advisors, RAs, choir, LINK officers, Christian Life, Be REAL, Student Senate, Mortar Board, Shoebox Board, Gamma Chis, Panhellenic Council Executive Board, Student Ambassadors, and CMFK to sports such as cross country, track & field, tennis, soccer, softball, and intramurals. Our chapter is involved in numerous community service activities including Head Start, Reach Out and Read, Hanover Nursing Center, Girls Club, Clifty Falls, Animal Shelter, ISTEP tutor Program at Southwestern Elementary School, Big Brothers/ Big Sisters of Jefferson County and Salvation Army. Chi Omega maintains a strong academic focus by having the highest GPA on campus for the past four years, as well as having fun at our numerous social events. Our chapter also strongly values the vast diversity of each of our members by always stressing the intrinsic worth of each individual.

Chi Omega holds Chi Oahu at the beginning of every year to bring everyone back together after summer break, and get to know the incoming freshmen. Caddyshack is an event held annually where everyone dresses like golfers and parties the night away. Chi Omega also holds Chi-O No Guy-O each fall where each member was responsible for inviting another affiliated girl to the House for crafts and snacks. Each year Chi Omega has Semi-Formal and Formal off-campus.
