Dear New Student,

Welcome to Hanover College! Here at Hanover, you will have many opportunities to be involved in various campus activities. The purpose of this web site is to share information with you about the opportunity to join a Greek-letter fraternity. Greek membership offers many immediate benefits including leadership development, scholarship encouragement, community service involvement and social activities. Additionally, the lifelong friendships developed through a fraternity will provide support throughout your life, as well as a network of professionals in different careers following college.

At Hanover formal recruitment is held at the beginning of winter term. This deferred recruitment schedule allows you the opportunity to settle into college life and really get to know each fraternity before you make the decision to join a particular group.

Maintaining a high level of academic achievement is important to each chapter at Hanover; therefore, each Greek chapter has a grade point average requirement for both prospective and active members. In order to be eligible for recruitment, men must conclude fall term with a 2.25 GPA or higher.

If you have any questions about the recruitment process please feel free to contact any member of the Inter-Fraternal Council, as well as the Assistant Director of Greek Life, Deanne Walters, extension 7081 or walters@hanover.edu. We look forward to meeting each of you.
