Greek Summit excerpt: (to read the entire letter, please click HERE) You know about the national trend away from Greek. Regrettably, we are seeing the same trend here at Hanover. I need not tell you how important the Greek system is to Hanover's tradition. But I will tell you, just as affirmation, that a strong, vibrant Greek system is equally important to our future. I am a fraternity member as are the majority of our alumni. Speaking for the leadership of the College, I want the system to thrive. Few ventures have the setting for instilling mature values and developing leadership as do sororities and fraternities. They provide a means of positive development when done right, just as they provide a setting for unacceptable activities when done wrong. We must assure that all chapters have a plan, suport, and environment which will promise future success and sustainability. They do not now. We have work to do, and it will require involvment from all stakeholders to ensure a successful future of the chapters. Thank you for engaging in this most important project. I look forward to working with you.
Sincerely,
Russell Nichols
President
